Pittsburg State University hosts free online Q & A event on November 11 and 17

Have you thought about pursuing a career in music? Would you like to be involved in music at the university level? The Department of Music at Pittsburg State University will host a free online Q & A event on November 11 and 17. Students will have an opportunity to meet PSU music faculty and students online, learn about the world-class music opportunities offered at PSU, and ask questions about auditions, scholarships, and more! 


Two online sessions will be offered: 


Wednesday, November 11 at 6:30 PM (CST) Tuesday, November 17 at 6:30 PM (CST)

Pittsburg State University offers both Bachelor and Master programs in music: 

  • Instrumental Performance (string, wind, brass, percussion, or keyboard)

  • Vocal Performance 

  • Music Education 

  • Instrumental Conducting

  • Choral Conducting

  • Orchestral Instrument Performance

  • Organ, Piano or Harpsichord Performance

In addition, music students have performance and ensemble opportunities: 

  • Wind Ensemble & Symphonic Band

  • The Pride of the Plains Marching Band

  • Jazz Ensembles

  • Southeast Kansas Symphony Orchestra

  • Chamber Orchestra

  • PSU Choir

  • PSU Opera Theatre

  • Bicknell Family Center for the Arts

  • McCray Recital Hall
